Dr. Arun Kulandaivelu (Dr. AKV)

Academician | Visionary Clinician | Healthcare Entrepreneur

Dr. Arun Kulandaivelu is a distinguished academician and visionary clinician who has played a transformative role in advancing modern dental healthcare in South India. With over two decades of experience, his career reflects a rare blend of clinical excellence, academic rigor, technological innovation, and ethical entrepreneurship.

Born in Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, into a family of doctors, Dr. Arun was deeply influenced by a culture of medical discipline and service. His father, Dr. Thirumalaivelu, an ENT surgeon, and his mother, Dr. Eswari, a gynecologist, instilled in him strong values of compassion, integrity, and patient-centered care.

Dr. Arun completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (1996–2001) from Raja Muthiah Dental College, Annamalai University, followed by a Master’s in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics (2002–2005) from Ragas Dental College, Chennai.

Driven by a passion for painless and precision-based dentistry, he pursued advanced training in Laser Dentistry at the University of Vienna, Austria, in 2006. On returning to India, he joined Apollo Dental Centre and made an early, bold investment in laser technology—significantly influencing the adoption of advanced dental techniques in the region.

In 2009, Dr. Arun founded the Academy of Excellence in Laser Dentistry, through which he has trained dentists from across India, contributing meaningfully to the growth and standardization of laser dentistry practices nationwide.

His leadership and clinical expertise led to senior administrative roles including:

Regional Director, Vasan Dental Care (2010–2011)
Clinical Director, Apollo White Dental (2011–2015)

In recognition of his contributions, he received the Young Achiever Award from the Honourable Governor of Tamil Nadu in 2011.

An advocate of ethical entrepreneurship, Dr. Arun established La Dentist Network Clinics Pvt. Ltd., the parent company of 32 Dental Care, one of South India’s fastest-growing DSO .

Dr. Arun Kulandaivelu continues to inspire by seamlessly integrating science with entrepreneurship, technology with compassion, and education with leadership, creating meaningful impact across dentistry and healthcare.
